Work can be so busy and demanding that by the end of the day, a driver may no longer be able to remember the little details, such as which headlight they should use for the type of weather or road conditions they are traveling in. A little knowledge about the different headlamp types available for their cars can keep drivers from making costly mistakes.

Fog lights

Regular headlights usually reflect off snow, moisture, or dust particles in the air, thus preventing a driver from seeing the road ahead of him. As the name suggests, fog lights are designed for use in dangerously thick fog, as well as in other instances when visibility is extremely limited. The beam from a fog light can penetrate the fog and light up the surface of the road so that drivers are able to see up ahead and stay within their lane.

Driving lights

Driving lights have beams stronger than that of fog lights. They are especially useful for off-roading and traversing dark, deserted country roads and that’s why they are mainly installed on pickup trucks and SUVs. Driving lights have white beams and are designed to send said beams far ahead to illuminate the next stretch of road in front of the vehicle.
