With the development of newer, higher power LEDs, the humble solid-state lighting device has risen out of its humble role as an indicator light for electronic equipment and entered the market for mainstream lighting equipment. One of their most popular uses right now is as a lighting fixture in vehicles of every shape and size.

LED lights hold a significant advantage over their incandescent counterparts as headlights, taillights, turn signal indicator lights and brake lights. Let’s take a quick look at what these advantages are:
Energy Efficiency
LED lights are, by far, the most energy efficient option for automotive lighting applications. LEDs are able to do this by producing very little heat compared to the amount of light they produce. This translates into highly reduced resistance, better current flow, and, therefore, improved performance along its electronic circuitry.
Better Illumination
LED lights cast a cooler glow than incandescent bulbs, which produce a light that is closer to amber. This translates into improved visual performance and decreases driver reaction time, perhaps due to the fact that ordinary daylight also casts a cool white glow.
Longer Lifespan than Incandescent Bulbs
Incandescent bulbs have a sorry reputation for giving out in a short period of time. Conversely, LEDs are known to last very long. So long, in fact, that some are willing to argue that they will last just as long as the car itself will.
